The differences between Japan and Indonesia

In the world map, japan is located between Eurasia continent and Australia continent. The island is extending from north to south like a curve along the eastern coast of the Asian continent. Japan also called by island country. There are four big islands in Japan, such as: Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Japan has four seasons. Spring normally takes place from March to May, Summer from June to August, Fall from September to November, and winter from December to February.
Japan’s land area is approximately 378.000km2. According to 2006 data, Japan has a population of 127.4 million. Eight largest in the world after China, India, US, Indonesia, Brazil, Russia, and Pakistan.
In Japan, Tokyo is the biggest city. Then Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sendai. Japanese origin come from the northern area or southeastern area. From northern area, may come from Siberia or Mongolia. And Souteastern area comes from some islands in pacific, like Philipine or Indonesia. One more thing the other theory says that Japanese people come from Korean Peninsula. Since Japanese people consisted one ethnic, Japanese is the only one language in Japan.
The Education system in Japan is 6-3-3-4. Its means 6 years for Primary School, 3 years for Junior High School and 4 years for University Education. In japan, students start their class at 08.30 and finish around 17.00. After that, they usually continue their study in some courses until night. That,s why Japanese students have been known that they are very busied. According to Departement of Education 1998 data, High School students in Japan, they continued their study to university about 48,2 percent.
Almost of all Japanese believe in Gods. In traditional beliefs there are 80.000 Gods in Japan. Perhaps we can say that almost of all the Japanese believe in many Gods, but not in relegion. In Japan,there are a lot of kinds of traditional festivals. It depends on the area or province. But some famous festivals are Nebuta, Festival from Aomori, Sansa Odori from Marioka, Tanabata Festival from Sendai, Gion Festival from Kyoto, Omizutori Festival from Nara, and so on. In Japan, there are many interesting places to see. There are Shonan beach in Kanagawa near Tokyo, Okinawa, Castles, Temples and so on. Baseball and soccer are the most popular in Japan, but Sumo is the number one.

Indonesia’s land area is approximately 1.904.600 km2. Indonesia’s population is about 245 million. It has two seasons, Rainy Season which usually happens from October to March and Dry Season fro April to September. There are five biggest cities in Indonesia. Jakarta is the biggest city af all. And then Surabaya, Semarang, Medan, and Bandung. The origins of Indonesia people may come from Southern China or the pacific area.
In Indonesia, the education system is same with Japan. But the students fro primary school to high school has started their class at 07.00 and finish it at 13.00. Maybe high school students in Indonesia continue their study to university less than 15 percent.
Most of Indonesian speak “Bahasa Indonesia”, It means Indonesia language. But every ethnic has their own language. Bahasa Indonesia is the national and official language, so everybody must learn Indonesia language for everyday communication. It does mean that in Indonesia, there are a lot of traditional festivals. For example Ogoh-ogoh festival from Bali, Bromo festival in East Java, Sekaten Festival in Yogyakarta, Tana Toraja Festival in Sulawesi and so on.
There are a lot of tourism places in Indonesia, such as Bali, Lombok, Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple in Central Java, Bromo Mountain in East Java, Tana Toraja in Sulawesi and many other places.
In Indonesia, people like football too, but our football team position in the world rank is very low. But, we have a good reputation in Badminton.
