浦島太郎のおとぎ話

URASHIMA TAROU NO OTOGIBANASHI

 

ある日、浜で魚を獲っていた浦島太郎は、子供たちにいじめられている亀を見つけました。そこで、太郎はすぐに子供たちを叱ってやめさせ、亀を海へ返してやりました。

亀は数日たって浜へ戻ってきて、太郎へのお礼に海の底の竜宮城へと案内してくれました。城では美しい乙姫が待っていて、たくさんのご馳走で太郎を歓迎しました。

A few day later, the turtle came back to Taro and as a reward for his kindness, the turtle took Taro to the Sea God’s Palace. A beutiful princess was waiting in the Palace and Taro was welcomed by a great feast.

太郎は2.3 日そこで過ごしましたが、家族に会いたくなったので自分の家へ帰ることにしました。その時、乙姫は「家に帰るまで、決してあけてはいけません」と言って、立派な玉手箱を太郎に渡しました。

しかし、太郎は途中で箱がとても気になり始め、浜に着くとすぐに玉手箱のふたを開けてしまいました。すると、箱の中から白い煙が出てきて、太郎はあっという間におじいさんになってしまいました。

Despite the Princess’s words, Taro could not wait to open the chest and as soon as he returned to the beach he took the lid off and opened the chest. Suddenly, white smoke came out of the box and Taro changed into an old man.
